After working together on a few major projects, PermissionTV Inc. and Move Networks Inc. have decided to make it easier for customers to choose their conjoined technologies in the future.
The companies are embarking on an integration and reseller partnership that they hope will combine the best parts of PermissionTV's content management platform with Move's high-quality streaming video technology.
The partnership came about after the companies worked together on a couple of joint projects: the Metropolitan Opera's subscription video service and Fox Broadcasting Co. 's online catchup service for affiliates, Fox On Demand.
By connecting PermissionTV's video platform and APIs with Move technology, the companies expect to deliver faster time-to-market and easier integration with third-party services auch as advertising, geo-targeting, subscription management, and reporting and analytics.
According to PermissionTV chief strategy officer Matt Kaplan, the combination allows content owners faster time-to-market, with an easy-to-use templating engine for creating customizable Move video players. Kaplan says the partnership will also allow content owners to leverage PermissionTV's extensive metadata system to create richer video experiences.
"Because of the way Move technology works, it allows you to assemble videos without any breaks in the video experience. You can play back-to-back video without breaks, creating a TV-like experience with Move's delivery platform and PermissionTV's tag-and-query functionality," Kaplan says.
