Netflix Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX) added yet another distribution partner today, with the news that its "Watch Instantly" streaming service will be available on Sony Corp. (NYSE: SNE)'s Bravia line of broadband-connected TVs.
With the addition of Netflix content, Sony joins a large (and growing) number of consumer electronics (CE) manufacturers that allow subscribers to the video rental service to stream movies into their living rooms.
Netflix's streaming service is now available on broadband-connected CE devices from LG Electronics Inc. (London: LGLD; Korea: 6657.KS) , Samsung, and Vizio. The service is also enabled on Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT)'s Xbox 360 gaming console, the Roku Inc. Internet set-top box, and TiVo Inc. (Nasdaq: TIVO) DVRs.
