Ever wish you could toss a lobster at your best friend? What about inviting someone special to "share a tub of Flavs"? VH1 and Slide, producer of the Facebook /MySpace SuperPoke application, think maybe you have.

The two have teamed up to offer 30 VH1-themed SuperPokes:

Vh1 SuperPokes

Impressive, yes, but get this: Starting tomorrow, 10,000 SuperPokes will be randomly selected to air on VH1, as animations with the sender and recipient's names at the bottom. That's right, on television.

If you are one of the 350,000 daily users on Facebook or the 900,000 who downloaded the app on MySpace, you could get your chance at celebreality.

After the "SuperPoke!Fest" kicks off tomorrow, it will be accompanied by a four-day marathon of such VH1 classics as Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, and I Love New York. [Ed Note: Exactly as our founding fathers would have wanted us to celebrate Independence Day, I think.]

In other news:

  • Or Die Networks, known for the Funny or Die comedy site, announced a new alternative to death today with Pwn or Die. The videogaming site is now in beta and will launch officially in the fall. CEO Dick Glover said that just as Funny or Die features celebrities -- specifically Will Ferrel -- in its content, Pwn or Die will feature content and interviews from celebrities in the gaming world... whoever they may be.

  • Internet Broadcasting unveiled a new online tool called Slantly. Slantly, which was created for Web publishers to use for polling or sparking debate, allows users to agree or disagree with bold statements such as "Green energy will be the future," or "Jerry Yang will remain CEO of Yahoo by the end of 2008," or "My name is Greg." Publishers can customize the tool and include the widget on their own sites.
